lining If a lining only contributed to the inside appearance of a garment, few of us would trouble with adding one. The real reason for lining a garment is how much better it makes us look. A lined skirt, dress, or pair of pants hangs with a smooth, flattering line, doesn't cling, and wrinkles far less. Lined garments are also easier to slip on and off and more comfortable to wear. Bemberg rayon is a favorite lining fabric because it's comfortable, slippery, durable, washable, and comes in a large variety of colors. However, silk or polyester crepe de Chine, charmeuse, peach skin/microfiber, and China silk can also be used to make luxurious linings.
